Golf GPS Reviews
October 25th, 2011Why Golf GPS?
One of the most important activities in golf is the act of determining distances. Without an accurate distance, your game is based on guessing. And if you’re not 100 per cent confident with your club selection, the uncertainty in your mind can often translate in to an uncommitted swing, resulting in a poor golf shot.
Of course, having an expert caddie along, you decrease enormously the guesswork involved in determining distance to the hole, and various course targets, such as bunker or stream carries.
Without that expert caddie, determining distances can also be the most frustrating, time-consuming and mind-bending lesson in futility. While sprinkler heads, course guides and yardage markers can be helpful (when available), they don’t often tell the whole story. What if you are just trying to carry a fairway bunker? Or lay up short of a lake? Or play an approach from the wrong fairway?
Using devices to help you to measure distances, like GPS units and laser rangefinders, can be the perfect solution, because with a click of a button you gain absolute confidence of your exact distances, taking the guesswork out of the equation and allowing you to focus solely on your swing.
But wait: electronic devices? Is that allowed? Yes, they are legal. Approved for use in 2008 by the USGA and the R&A (change in Rule 14-3b), distance-measuring devices can be used on the course, provided that your club/committee allows it (check with your Club Captain for more on this).
In that case… what kind of device shall you use?
Golf GPS Reviews
The latest generation of golf GPS units give you quick and accurate guidance from anywhere on the course. Beyond basic distance-to-the-hole data, many golf GPS units tell you the length of your last shot (and store the info for future reference); distance to, and location of targets and hazards; distance to the front, middle, and back of the green, and more.
To get more information we created a site with Golf GPS Reviews where you can find the best models in the market, letting you decide for yourself which gives you the best accuracy that fits into your budget (also you can give the site as a reference for birthday and Christmas gifts…).
We analyze and test the most popular models, like the Garmin Approach G5 or the Callaway uPro Golf GPS. And several other models that you can buy online or in a store near you.
Make sure to visit our Golf GPS Reviews site to read about the different models available and feel free to leave your comments and suggestions.
Enjoy!
